About the club
Play in Dore provides an all- inclusive after-school club during term time for children aged 4 to 11. We offer a convenient walking bus and collection service from three local schools: Dore Primary School, Totley Primary School, and Totley All Saints Primary School.
Our service runs from school pick-up time until 6:30 PM, offering a longer, more flexible care solution than most local providers.
We understand the challenges parents face balancing work life with school pick-up times. That’s where Play in Dore makes life easier! We provide a safe, engaging environment for your little ones while you finish your workday, with flexible finishing times available until 6:30 PM.
Play in Dore is managed and run by a highly qualified team of dedicated childcare professionals, play workers and sports coaches. Our entire team shares a belief in the power of learning through play. This philosophy moves beyond standard care, facilitating a deeper, more fulfilling experience centred on developing your child’s natural curiosity and self-discovery.

A light meal
Once children arrive at the club, we provide a healthy, light meal to refuel them after their school day. All food is prepared fresh in our kitchen, strictly adhering to all food hygiene requirements. Our staff are thoroughly trained in safe food preparation and handling.
Our Balanced Menu Typically Includes:
A selection of fresh sandwiches, wraps, and pitta bread with a wide range of healthy fillings (including various meats and cheeses), accompanied by fresh fruit and vegetables, breadsticks, and treat items like cocktail sausages, sausage rolls, cheese rolls, crackers, and rice cakes.
Please note the following guidelines:
- Healthy Eating Policy: We promote healthy eating within the club and kindly ask parents to adhere to this policy when packing meals and snacks.
- Nut-Free Zone: Our club is a strict nut-free environment. Please check all packaging carefully: items containing nuts or traces of nuts are unsuitable for the club. Any nut products found in lunch boxes will be removed by staff and replaced with alternative snacks.
- Choking Hazards: Following new OFSTED guidelines, all small, potential choking items (such as whole grapes, cherry tomatoes, and blueberries) will be chopped into smaller pieces for snack prep.
All meals are eaten in a relaxed, social atmosphere. All Early years will be supervised at all times.
Walking bus
We’ve developed a safe and engaging ‘walking bus’ service that encourages children to adopt a healthier, more active lifestyle.Supervised by our staff at all times, the journey takes around 20-25 minutes. To make the walk fun, children participate in nature trails, observing local wildlife along the way. We ensure safety by having all children wear reflective safety jackets.
Additional benefits of our walking bus include:
- Contributes significantly to their recommended 60 minutes of daily exercise
- Promotes essential road safety awareness.
- Encourages sustainable transport methods.
- Helps to foster a sense of community and friendship among peers.

What age group do you accept?
We take primary school aged children, reception to twelve years old
What are you opening times?
8:00am till 6:00pm
Do you run every half term?
Yes we run each half term (excluding Christmas)
What is the refund cancellation policy
Cancellations may be eligible for a refund depending on notice period, aligned with the terms and conditions. 9please see terms on conditions on site)
Do you accept childcare vouchers?
Yes we accept all childcare vouchers, and registered to GOV- TAX free for all site. Please look on our booking page for details.
Can children stay together or do they get split up?
We encourage all age groups to stay and learn together, however to ensure we are meeting each individual child’s development needs or due to risk levels we will divide some activities like sports into junior and infant groups.
What forms do we need to fill in if our child has an allergy, health, dietary or additional support needs?
It is vitally important this information is clearly stated on your child’s booking form, allowing staff on the day to be able to support your child’s needs. Hand written documents will need to be filled in during drop off (please come in early) if we have to administer or assist a child during the day. These forms will need to signing by a parent/carer at pick up.
