About the club

Play in Birkdale Holiday Club offers a warm, engaging environment where children can explore, create, and make new friends. We understand that holidays should be both enjoyable and enriching — that’s why our activities are balanced with fun, learning, and discovery.

Sessions are thoughtfully lead by our trained play workers and sports coaches, to support children’s confidence, self worth and sense of achievement. Whether your child loves sports, arts, baking or imaginative play, there’s always something exciting waiting at Play in Birkdale!

Pricing

Each full session costs £42.00 per child from 8:00-6:00pm. This includes the prior additional costs for extra activities.

Preparing for the holiday club

To ensure your child has the best possible experience, please make sure they come prepared with:

  • Healthy packed lunch
  • Water bottle – with their name on
  • Suitable footwear for sports
  • Sunhat’s and suncream (Weather dependant)
  • Coats /rain jackets (The children will going outdoors)

Healthy packed lunches

While we provide light snacks and fresh water, we do not serve full meals. We ask parents and carers to provide a healthy, pre-prepared packed lunch for their child each day.

Throughout the day your child is given the chance to have healthy snacks. These are offered in the morning, as well as during the afternoon session.

Please note the following guidelines:
  • Healthy Eating Policy: We promote healthy eating within the club and kindly ask parents to adhere to this policy when packing meals and snacks.
  • No Refrigeration Facilities: We do not have facilities to refrigerate packed lunches. Please ensure all lunch boxes are either self-cooling or include an ice pack to keep food fresh for food hygiene purposes.
  • Identification: Please label all lunch boxes and water bottles clearly with your child’s name.
  • Nut-Free Zone: Our club is a strict nut-free environment. Please check all packaging carefully: items containing nuts or traces of nuts are unsuitable for the club. Any nut products found in lunch boxes will be removed by staff and replaced with alternative snacks.
  • Choking Hazards: Following new OFSTED guidelines, all small, potential choking items (such as whole grapes, cherry tomatoes, and blueberries) must be chopped into smaller pieces before they arrive at the club.

All meals are eaten in a relaxed, social atmosphere. Thank you for helping us maintain a healthy and safe environment for everyone!

Our daily arts and crafts sessions provide a space where imagination comes to life, allowing children to explore their creativity through a brilliant mix of projects and mediums.

Skilled Sports & Games:

Our multi-skilled sports sessions focus on physical activity, developing key coordination and teamwork skills in a fun, inclusive environment.

Cooking & Baking Fun:

From making your own pizza to baking sweet treats like cookies and cupcakes, our holiday club is the place for budding chefs to get creative!

Playroom:

Our indoor playroom is packed with small world, construction, games, puzzles, and more – perfect for downtime fun, rainy days, or when kids just want to free play and relax!

Outdoor Play:

The great outdoors waits and is ready to be explored on our huge field and woodland area. What creepy crawls can you find?!

Taking time off working during school holidays is costly for parents, and even then it’s often impossible. If you can’t afford to lose this money, or if you simply can’t take the time.

What age group do you accept?

We take primary school aged children, reception to twelve years old

What are you opening times?

8:00am till 6:00pm

Do you run every half term?

Yes we run each half term (excluding Christmas)

What is the refund cancellation policy

Cancellations may be eligible for a refund depending on notice period, aligned with the terms and conditions. 9please see terms on conditions on site)

Do you accept childcare vouchers?

Yes we accept all childcare vouchers, and registered to GOV- TAX free for all site. Please look on our booking page for details.

Can children stay together or do they get split up?

We encourage all age groups to stay and learn together, however to ensure we are meeting each individual child’s development needs or due to risk levels we will divide some activities like sports into junior and infant groups.

What forms do we need to fill in if our child has an allergy, health, dietary or additional support needs?

It is vitally important this information is clearly stated on your child’s booking form, allowing staff on the day to be able to support your child’s needs. Hand written documents will need to be filled in during drop off  (please come in early)  if we have to administer or assist a child during the day. These forms will need to signing by a parent/carer at pick up.
