Our story
Play in Ltd, founded in 2015, began with a vision to redefine how wraparound care is delivered to children.
My aim was to transform after-school and holiday care from a simple childcare service into an engaging, dynamic experience. I strongly felt that children should have diverse and unique activities that they may not encounter in their day-to-day lives, introducing them to different walks of life and fostering new experiences.
At the heart of my philosophy was to create a dynamic team that goes beyond mere observation, to one that is dedicated to establishing caring relationships and serving as positive role models to support the children in our care. Furthermore, I believe that building strong bonds with parents is key to everything we do. With this founding principle as my goal, our journey began…

Our club operates on a child-led philosophy, putting the children in charge of their day. They shape the schedule by choosing from our diverse selection of activities and resources.Play in, champions an active brand of play by going the extra mile, expanding on your child’s ideas, valuing their unique perspectives, and ensuring that their views and opinions are valued.
The Camp experience
Our holiday camp experience offers a unique blend of adventure, community, and personal growth, creating lasting memories for children. Days are filled with diverse, engaging activities, from skilled outdoor sports and creative arts to baking sessions and more, all designed to foster teamwork and new skills.
What sets us apart is our dynamic, immersive curriculum: alongside our core activities, we welcome external professionals for a wide array of specialist sessions. These include high-energy activities like Dance, Science experiments, Parkour, Robotics, Lego building, and even biking. This structured, supportive environment, help children thrive, building independence, resilience, and vital social skills.

Enhanced DBS Check Our holiday camp is fully committed to implementing robust safe recruitment practices to ensure the welfare and safety of every child entrusted to our care. We rigorously follow a comprehensive vetting process for all prospective staff and volunteers, which includes enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks, diligent reference verification, and mandatory safeguarding training. This stringent procedure guarantees that all team members are not only qualified and passionate about working with children, but also fully committed to creating a secure, supportive, and safe environment for all children.
Core requirements for all staff
- Enhanced DBS Check: All staff and volunteers working unsupervised with children must have a satisfactory and up-to-date criminal record check from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
- Safeguarding Training: Evidence that all staff have received appropriate child protection and safeguarding training.
- First Aid Certification: Ensure that a sufficient number of staff (ideally all, but especially key personnel) hold current and certified First Aid or Paediatric First Aid qualifications.
- Relevant Experience: Prior experience working or volunteering with children, in play schemes, or youth clubs is a desired requirement for most roles.
Specific qualifications

Childcare Qualifications staff may hold:
- Activity Coaching Awards: Sports coaching or relevant certifications. This demonstrates expertise and safe instruction.
- Teaching Qualifications: qualified teachers (e.g PGCE/QTS)

What age group do you accept?
We take primary school aged children, reception to twelve years old
What are you opening times?
8:00am till 6:00pm
Do you run every half term?
Yes we run each half term (excluding Christmas)
What is the refund cancellation policy
Cancellations may be eligible for a refund depending on notice period, aligned with the terms and conditions. 9please see terms on conditions on site)
Do you accept childcare vouchers?
Yes we accept all childcare vouchers, and registered to GOV- TAX free for all site. Please look on our booking page for details.
Can children stay together or do they get split up?
We encourage all age groups to stay and learn together, however to ensure we are meeting each individual child’s development needs or due to risk levels we will divide some activities like sports into junior and infant groups.
What forms do we need to fill in if our child has an allergy, health, dietary or additional support needs?
It is vitally important this information is clearly stated on your child’s booking form, allowing staff on the day to be able to support your child’s needs. Hand written documents will need to be filled in during drop off (please come in early) if we have to administer or assist a child during the day. These forms will need to signing by a parent/carer at pick up.
